Local insulation installers in Gisborne and the East Coast
Coastline Insulation began in Gisborne in 2023, before we moved our base to the Bay of Plenty. Tairāwhiti is still a big part of what we do, and we keep working across Gisborne city, the surrounding suburbs and the wider East Coast.
Gisborne has older weatherboard villas and newer coastal builds, so what a home needs can change street to street. A 1930s home in Kaiti will have very different gaps in the ceiling and underfloor from a new build in Wainui. We look at your home before we quote, and we match the job to its age and construction.
Quotes are free and no-obligation, with no hidden fees.

Older villas and newer coastal builds
Older weatherboard villas often have thin or degraded insulation, or very little at all. Many sit on raised timber floors, which is where underfloor insulation can take the edge off cold floors and draughts. If your ceiling has old loose-fill insulation (Insulfluff), we remove it before the new insulation goes in.
Newer homes in places like Wainui are a different job. If you are building, we fit ceiling, wall and underfloor insulation at framing stage, to your plans, before the linings go on.
A damp, changeable climate
The East Coast can be damp and changeable, and a home that is not well insulated feels it. Insulation helps keep a home warmer in winter and cooler on hot days, and helps keep surfaces warmer so there is less condensation. It does not fix leaks or replace ventilation, so we will tell you if something else needs attention.
Where the ground under a house is damp, we can also install a ground moisture barrier as part of an underfloor job.
Gisborne, Māhia, Tolaga Bay and SH35
We cover Gisborne city and suburbs including Kaiti, Wainui, Whataupoko, Mangapapa, Te Hapara, Elgin and Ormond, plus rural properties around the district. Further afield, we work along SH35 from Ōpōtiki around the coast to Gisborne and down towards Māhia, including Tolaga Bay.
